"How far are your friends with you?"
Miguel, Paulo, Osvaldo and El¢i were part of the armed resistance against the military dictatorship in Brazil in the early 1970s and had to pay for it all with arrests and torture. Açao entre amigos tells how the events of this period in Brazilian history have left their mark on their lives today. Miguel is the only one who has remained politically active. When he looks at photos taken at a political rally in Sao Paolo, he thinks he recognizes a man who tortured them twenty-five years ago. It turns out to be a police officer who was officially declared dead a few years earlier. When Miguel tells this to his friends, it provokes very different reactions, which bring them into conflict with each other and with themselves.
