Portrait of an acorn.
The strange lines of dialogue, the unsympathetic character and a story that seems to go nowhere make this River Phoenix movie quite an ordeal to get through. I thought the main character Reardon was just a prick, although I do realize that this is part of the design of the film. Jumping into bed with his best friend's girlfriend and then also with his mother's girlfriend... No character actually manages to stick. I have seen zero feelings here. Fairly immoral movie at times. And this film is certainly not funny. It was to Phoenix's credit that he himself was ashamed of this film.
