A Menina do Lado plot

Mauro (Reginaldo Faria) is a 45-year-old journalist, married with two children, who has settled in a house in the seaside town of Búzios to quietly work on a book. In the house next door lives 14-year-old Alice (Flávia Monteiro), who stays with her aunt and uncle. They meet on the beach and start talking. A friendship develops between the man and the young girl, which soon turns into love. Mauro knows of course that this is not possible, an age difference of thirty years. His environment reacts furiously. But in the end, they decide to surrender to their passion, regardless of the consequences.
