1914 All Out plot
"The Story of an English Village that went to War."
Grisewold in Yorkshire, England in August on the eve of the First World War. Brothers Ken and Jonathan Houghton are more interested in cricket and the beautiful Jean than in the impending war. Both are vying for the girl's hand. When England becomes involved in the war, Ken leaves for the front. Everyone thinks the hostilities will be over by Christmas. Ken takes advantage of a few days off to marry Jean. She is two months pregnant when Ken is killed. Even though Jonathan got the short straw at the love lottery, he decides to take care of Jean and the baby, but the thought of Ken weighs heavily on everyone.
