Westerbork Girl plot

Hannelore Eisinger-Cahn was liberated from camp Westerbork in WWII by her great love, but she returned a week later. Voluntarily. A decision that would have consequences forever. She was a star in Westerbork transit camp. One of the Westerbork Girls: the chorusline of the camp revue. The singing and dancing seemed to save her from being transported to Auschwitz. In the basement of her home in Queens, New York, Hannelore searches for one special photo. She, madly in love in wartime, is captured with Rob de Vries: the Jewish actor and resistance hero who spectacularly liberated her from camp Westerbork in 1943. She still wonders why she returned from her hiding place. Back to the transit camp. With the older Hans Eisinger. The man who, at the behest of the camp commander, had tracked her down. Couldn't she have gotten away?
