The Romanian HBO documentary Visiting Room shows that love goes where it can hardly go: to prison. Inmates have had a close love affair for many years. By writing to each other. Sometimes as many as five letters a week, pages full, and with life-sized hearts. They tell how it started, after they happened to see each other in a photo. How creative they have to work in order to meet each other physically. And how they even tied the knot. Love knows no barriers, perhaps especially not for those who find themselves surrounded by bars every day.
