Varese: The One All Alone plot

The French composer Edgard Varèse (1883-1965), described by Henry Miller as 'the stratospheric colossus of sound', has given percussion and sound a full place within music. His rhythmic adventures inspired composers such as John Cage, Elliot Carter and Pierre Boulez. Even today, forty years after his death, he is still immensely popular in the DJ circuit. By integrating music and image, Scheffer manages to create a poetic journey by capturing Varèse's compositions and the rhythm of his powerful music.
