Unter Aller Augen plot

In Bangladesh, Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo, but also in Germany: violence against women is everywhere. This documentary delves into the lives of women who have been subjected to horrific violence and have not yet managed to find their way to freedom. They talk about the violence inflicted on them, their struggle for survival, their hopes and fears, and their current attempts to build a new life. And the men? Many of them describe violence against women as a normal part of their daily lives. When a woman got spanked, she deserved it. When she defends herself, he threatens to take her children and throw her out of the house. According to UNIFEM and WHO, in many countries, up to 70% of all women have experienced physical or sexual domestic violence at least once.
