Tinselwood plot
The data is situated in a large tropical forest in Cameroon. The ambassador used to come here often, say the young men, who dig around with sticks in the undergrowth, where a German cemetery used to be. But the treasures hastily hidden by the colonial rulers before they fled are long gone. Now the road to Yaoundé is finally overgrown. The environment and its inhabitants were left to their own devices. This story functions as a historical sketch, providing the basis for Marie Voignier to use the film's tools to shed light on southwestern Cameroon. The camera carefully follows the residents in their daily lives and gives them the time and space to think about their situation. Tinselwood had a brutal colonial past that still resonates today.
