The Mother Age plot

From the barren coastline of Finnmark to the deep forests of Finland, director Irene Margrethe Kaltenborn searches for clues that might shed light on an age-old theory dating back to the dawn of humanity. Inspired by, among others, Ursula K. Le Guin, the director challenges the idea that the knife was the first tool made by man. Stones endure while organic material decays – but are there still traces to be found of a parallel history, rooted in a more respectful relationship with the world around us?
