The Greatest Sacrifice plot

In the Syrian city of Saraqeb, Haaf and Daour are taking an active part in the revolution, which started in 2011 as a peaceful people's movement. In the three years that the men are followed by filmmaker Eyad Aljarod, himself from Saraqeb, the revolution changes in front of the camera. Fewer songs, lectures and togetherness; and more weapons, ubiquitous destruction, banditry and Islamic militants. The camera first registers hopeful meetings and substantial, sometimes poetic conversations indoors or in the car in which Daour checks the main roads for danger to fellow citizens. But when, after a while, Daour and others also take up arms to defend themselves against Assad's government army, which operates on a scorched earth tactic, the atmosphere becomes grim.
