Documentary about the metamorphosis that Akbarstraat underwent in fifteen years. What did urban renewal do to this traditionally multicultural, working-class neighborhood in Amsterdam? In 2001 Felix Rottenberg settled in the multicultural Akbarstraat. He filmed there for months and captured the neighborhood down to the capillaries. In 2018 he returned to the district, which in the meantime has undergone a major urban renewal. A thousand homes were demolished and fourteen hundred largely owner-occupied and more luxurious rental homes were added.
