Sur les Traces du Bembeya Jazz plot
Bembeya Jazz is a legendary music group that was founded in 1961 in Beyla (southern Guinea) as an outgrowth of the local bands desired by President Sékou Touré. Their music combines traditional melodies with melodious electric guitars, lyrical vocals, Congolese rumba chords and Cuban salsa. The group was dissolved in the early 1970s after the deaths of singer Demba Camara and president Sékou Touré. Almost two decades later, the band, still with guitarist Sékou Diabaté 'Diamond Fingers', is back on the stage. Based on surprising testimonials and unpublished archive material, this immensely successful story is told on screen for the first time.
