Soundbreaker plot
"In Finnish, the word accordion is synonymous with asshole," says Finnish accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen, who started playing the accordion to please his father, but was ashamed of it for a long time. He has now shaken off that shame, as appears in Soundbreaker, in which Pohjonen emerges as an avant-garde power accordionist who bridges the gap between rock, folk, jazz and classical. His life is dominated by a search for his personal expression. He bends and breaks the rules of the music, messes with the bellows, adds electronic devices and processes samples of sounds of farm life, crushing everything you think you know about the accordion. He performs his compositions with the best guitarists and drummers, and collaborates with the renowned Kronos String Quartet.
