"Three women endure discrimination and the challenges of survival in an unknown place"
The residents of Santa Cruz, Zenzontepec, a Chatino community in the southern mountain range of Oaxaca, often travel to the coast for work. The journey to Santa Rosa de Lima, a coastal town whose main source of income is agriculture and trade, takes seven hours by car. This documentary follows some women in Santa Rosa. Julia first made this trip when she was 15 and enjoys life on the coast more than in the mountains. Catalina moved at a young age to work as a housekeeper. Now she sells food and feels more at home here than in her hometown. Alberta is a single mother who has to travel to work while carrying her baby.
