Sessão Bruta plot

A Brazilian collective of friendly crossdressers, transgender and non-binary people filmed themselves in 2018 with a Mini DV camera, spontaneously and without too much preparation. Four years later, the collective called As Talavistas & ela.ltda edited the raw material into a series of prologues of a film that, as they say, is never finished. The provisional result is a playful, personal, political and uncompromising visual self-portrait. The friends, all of mixed descent and therefore doubly marginalized, talk honestly about themselves and the things they struggle with in a society that is a constant danger for trans people. Brazil has the highest transgender homicide rate in the world.
