"Women. Hip hop. Life"

For the Say My Name project, photographer Nirit Peled makes portraits of women who come from the world of hip-hop; from Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago and the Bronx, as well as London. While that is largely a man's world, the women here get a stage to shine and showcase their talents. For a moment she allows intimate portraits and personal stories to merge with metropolitan architecture in the public space. The power of the image makes the power of women highly visible in the city.
