Sablé-sur-Sarthe, Sarthe plot
Paul Otchakovsky-Laurens arrived in Sable after the death of his father in 1946. He was one year old. His mother became ill and he was adopted by an older cousin who raised him until 1962. During his life there, things happened that will occupy him for years; serious events that were not talked about and thus treated as a family secret. It was then that he found out about his Jewish origins. He wants to show these places, those times - the life of a child and then that of a teenager in a small town, from the calm, unchanged, cold countryside. Research into the future of the rural community, the landscapes, the streets and inhabitants, and a search for family files and the return of personal memories form the thread of the film.
