Roman Polanski: A Film Memoir plot
The documentary tells the extraordinary story of Roman Polanski's life. From his youth in the ghettos of Krakow, his first films in Poland, the move to Paris, his career in Europe and America and the Oscar for 'The Pianist'. But also the tragedy of the murder of his pregnant wife Sharon Tate in Los Angeles, the controversy surrounding his arrest in 1977 and his work and life today with his wife Emmanuelle Seigner. The conversations were recorded during his stay at his home in Gstaad, where he spent several months under house arrest after he was arrested on his way to the Zurich film festival in 2009. The conversations are illustrated with fragments from Polanski's films, news images, press clippings and the filmmaker's photos.
