Reinventing Elvis: The '68 Comeback plot

In 1968 the world changed. Elvis Presley, once the "King of Rock and Roll," lost his appeal. His infamous manager, Colonel Tom Parker, wanted to restore Elvis' popularity with a lavish televised Christmas special. Channel NBC, Parker and Elvis agreed on the director: the brutal, young, socially conscious and rebellious Steve Binder. But Binder had a completely different vision for the special, one that Elvis enthusiastically embraced - much to Parker's dismay. On camera for the first time, Binder tells the true story of 'Reinventing Elvis' and the battle that resulted in the '68 Comeback Special.
