Personality Crisis: One Night Only plot

Half a century ago, David Johansen fronted the festively androgynous glampunk band New York Dolls. Buoyed by impressive amounts of booze and drugs, the Dolls gave performances that earned them great cult status, but little commercial success. The band broke up after two albums. That Johansen survived it all and gives an intimate concert in January 2020 at the age of seventy in the New York Café Carlyle is a miracle of nature. In the guise of his dandy-esque alter ego Buster Poindexter, he performs a repertoire that could be described as a blend of blues, swing and rock.
