Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter was a con artist and murderer who managed to impersonate Rockefeller's heir for decades. How could Gerhartsreiter dupe so many people with impunity for so long? The documentary begins to follow the trail Gerhartsreiter left behind on people who were close to him and thought he was a friend. The story ends at the courtroom, where the jury finds him guilty of murder.
