Mein Weg nach Olympia plot
"A disabled Niko von Glasow film about the paralympics"
Niko von Glasow, Germany's only 'short-armed director', travels the world to follow athletes as they prepare for the 2012 London Paralympics. Like one-armed table tennis player Aida Husic Dahlen of Norway, boccia champion Greg Polychronidis of Greece, who has been paralyzed from neck down, short-armed shooter Matt Stutzman from the United States, one-legged swimmer Christiane Reppe from Germany and the sitting volleyball players of the Rwanda team. The documentary reflects what drives the athlete to push their physical and mental limits under pressure and how the sport gives them new zest for life. In the course of the encounters, director Niko von Glasow even gradually begins to give up his personal aversion to any form of exercise.
