Lost World plot
In the 1970s, millions of Cambodian families were murdered, starved or displaced by the communist regime. Kalyanee Mam returns to her country decades later and discovers a new threat to the population. Since 2007, the government has allowed private companies to destroy coastal mangrove forests to build mines. Because of this, millions of tons of Cambodian sand are shipped every year to expand Singapore's landmass. This not only affects the lives of coastal residents, but also affects the ecosystem and makes the country less and less protected against tsunamis, hurricanes and rising sea levels.
