Lost in Transition plot
Documentary by Thom Vander Beken about a generation of young people in Serbia who grew up during the Balkan conflict. After the war, peace returned to the Balkans, but it was difficult to forget the past. Moreover, today's Serbia faces unemployment, poverty, isolation and an uncertain future. Dado ended up in Belgrade as a Serbian refugee from Croatia. The war put an end to his careless childhood in the countryside. His dream was to become a famous actor but till now he never even found the energy to start the studies. Mladen is a member of OBRAZ, a right-wing nationalist organization that organizes activities that defend the honor of the Serb people. They especially want to involve the young in their struggle for the Serbian cause. The hip-hop collective, Beogradski Sindikat, was founded three days before the 1999 NATO bombing as an example for Serbian youth. They want to prove that it is also possible to bring about change without getting involved in politics.
