“I want the viewers to discuss vigorously when they leave the room,” says the maker of this documentary. Can you believe that in the 21st century, men are advocating a return to the traditional values of patriarchy: women at the hearth and men in power? Can you imagine young, highly educated women looking for a dominant partner? What about men undergoing surgery to enlarge their penis the way they would just buy a bigger car? While these trends may seem marginal at first, the film shows us that our attitudes rarely stick to our words. The illusion of equality hides an abyss of everyday injustice that we no longer want to see.
