"Friendship is the wildest adventure of all"
Eleven-year-old Mia has recently moved from her hometown of London to a lion farm in South Africa, where her father is from. Both at school and at home, she's hard-pressed, even when her father introduces her to an extremely rare white lion cub named Charlie. Over the months that follow, Mia and Charlie develop a close bond, which, however, comes under strain as the lion grows. After three years, Mia's life is turned upside down when she discovers a secret her father is hiding. Troubled at the thought that Charlie might be in danger, Mia decides to run away, leaving the farm and her family behind.
