Fourteen-year-old Mika has bad school results and is now forced by her parents to spend the holidays on her strict grandmother's farm. But apart from the groomsman Sam, who can't take his eyes off her, Mika discovers something else of interest on the farm: the shy and wild stallion Ostwind (East Wind). Even the show jumper Michelle or her grandmother can't tame the animal. Mika tries her luck and sneaks to Ostwind's stable in the middle of the night. An unlikely friendship develops.
