K.364: A Journey by Train plot
Two classically trained musicians make a journey: from Berlin via Poznan to Warsaw. They are violinist Avri Levitan and viola player Roi Shiloah from Israel, both of Polish-Jewish origin. They are on their way to the performance of Mozart's symphony Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola and orchestra KV 364 in E-flat. The journey brings back memories of their Polish-born grandparents' stories about the Holocaust and eventual flight to Israel; it is on the same rails on which the family members were transported to a tragic fate at the time. The journey takes you through Poznan, where the former synagogue still exists, but is used as a swimming pool. On the train, the two musician friends have conversations about music and their shared experiences.
