Hip Hop Hope plot
Shortly after the devastating attacks of September 11, 2001, filmmaker Darrell Wilks visited a number of New York hip-hop artists and recorded the encounters with his digital video camera. The interviewees live far from the World Trade Center, but almost everyone knows someone who worked in one of the two towers as a cleaner, courier or waitress. 'For the first time in my life I'm glad I live in a bad neighborhood', says one of them. "At least I'm sure my building will never be the target of terrorist attacks."
