Herwinnen door Werken plot
A portrait filmed in color of the Netherlands just after the Second World War. Immediately after the liberation of Deventer in April 1945, Alex Roosdorp and his wife Marie Roosdorp-van den Berg start filming the devastation around them: destroyed cities, destroyed infrastructure and drowned land. Roosdorp and his wife travel hundreds of kilometers on their bicycles to record everything; they shoot a lot of the area around Deventer, but the film also contains images of Arnhem, Walcheren, the Wieringermeer and Scheveningen. Attention is also paid to the daily life that is getting going again in the liberated Netherlands.
