After breaking up with his friend, journalist David Thorpe embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting himself with his fear of appearing gay based on his voice. Through contact with coaches, linguists, friends, family, total strangers and celebrities, he soon finds out that many people, both gay and straight, would like a different voice. What begins as a personal journey becomes an opportunity to unpack layers of cultural baggage related to sexuality, identity and self-esteem.
