De Verhuizing, 15 Jaar Later plot

Fifteen years ago, Jan Louter made the documentary 'De Verhuizing', in which he followed how Romeo, Wil and Toos exchanged the psychiatric institution for a relatively independent life in Hellevoetsluis. A decade and a half later, he visits the three main characters again. Romeo now lives almost unaccompanied in a single-family home with three others. He still suffers from 'the devil' in his head, but he manages well. Wil spends his days watching television, opera and Buitenhof being his favourites. Toos, who was heading for a promising career in music before her illness, is not doing well. She now has Parkinson's, speaks softly almost unintelligibly and suffers visibly and audibly from life. Only the visits of friend Henk make life bearable. Images of the daily routine are interspersed with fragments from The Move and interviews with the three, in which they speak disarmingly honestly and with great self-insight about the past, present and future.
