De Toekomst Is Begonnen plot

Documentary about globalization and its consequences for the division of labor in the world. Low-skilled simple production work will move to developing countries. This is favorable for developing countries, but unfavorable for the low-skilled in the rich countries. Filmmaker Maartje van Putten films women in four countries: the Netherlands, Mexico, the Philippines and the US. The relocation of labor is underway, but not yet completed in 1989. Philips has another branch in the Netherlands, as well as in Mexico and the Philippines. The future has begun.
