Daybreak in Udi plot

In 1949, Nigeria went through an identity crisis. A clash is taking place between progressive members of the population, who embrace Western development, and those who want to preserve the traditional Nigerian heritage. Two young African teachers, Iruka and Dominic, decide to build a maternity hospital in the village of Udi, the symbol of modernization. They enlist the help of British District Officer ER Chadwick. Before he gets to work, he wants to make sure he's got Udi's community behind the plan, but that doesn't seem obvious.
