Darf Ich Mal Schreien plot
In the Swiss shopping center Shoppyland, a wedding ceremony takes place in the furniture department. The shopping paradise has been converted into a church especially for this occasion. The newlyweds won first prize in the '1998 Couple of the Year' competition, organized by Shoppyland. The overjoyed couple doesn't seem to care that it's part of a clever promotional stunt. The manager of Shoppyland cannot prevent the bride and groom from arranging their own wedding, completely against his preparations aimed at Shoppyland. The party then threatens to head for a fiasco. Filmmaker Jeanne Berthoud wonders what drives the bridal couple to let a personal event such as the wedding fall into commercial hands. She shows how the shopping centers have become the churches of our time, where cold managers and cool calculators hold sway.
