Black Out plot
Of the more than 10 million inhabitants of Guinea, only one fifth has access to electricity. And they also regularly have to deal with disruptions that often last for hours. A disaster for the economy, but also for the future of many children. During the day they hardly have time to study, but at night they lack light to read at all. Director Eva Weber draws a parallel between the students' ingenuity and determination and the changes taking place in the rest of Guinea. Only with a good education do these children have a chance of a better future than their parents. That is why, as soon as the exam season arrives, they go out every evening in search of light to study. The children hang out everywhere: at gas stations, in parks in the rich part of the city and especially at the airport, the largest light provider in the area. Even if this means that they have to walk for miles in the middle of the night.
