Bishar Blues plot

This journey through various fakirs in West Bengal in the eastern part of India is an equally casual-looking and in-depth exploration of the marfat, a liberal offshoot of Islam. While in traditional Islam prayer and fasting are at the heart of religious devotion, the marfat has placed itself outside the mosque and religious texts. Marfat is a rural interpretation of Islam with folkloric elements and a strong focus on sexual energy, which is considered the fundamental force of man. This is not always accepted by the establishment.
