And the series just keeps getting better and better. It is a pity that two of the participants in this part no longer wish to be interviewed. Fortunately, at least one of them (John) returns in a later part. The experiment still yields surprising (and sometimes predictable) insights. The most poignant participant is undoubtedly Neil, who at the age of 28 leads an itinerant life. Will he still be okay? Tune in next time...

In any case, Neil has become the star of the series, an almost archetypal eccentric who cannot find his place in society. The rest of the participants turned out pretty well, with the old women (really, how unexciting can you look at 28) being the highlight.

You get the feeling from a number of characters that they will no longer develop at all (although I still have hope for my previous favorite Bruce), but who knows, 35 Up can surprise me again, and we are indeed looking forward to and keeping our fingers crossed for it again. Neil...

3.5*.
