A fortune in gold from the wreckage of a Spanish galleon is hidden in the home of Anton Benson, a reclusive miser. The entire Benson family and their domestic helpers want the gold for themselves. The mysterious villain known as 'The Iron Claw' also wants the gold. The journalist Bob Lane, together with his photographer Jack Sterk and Anton Benton's niece Patricia, wants to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding the gold treasure.
