Disappointing film in which a woman does everything to regain custody of her child. A meager story that mainly doesn't work because of the unbalanced mix of genres. The plot and characters are not well developed. The comic scenes are still worth watching and Demi Moore is in good shape. Burt Reynolds' acting quickly becomes irritating.

Postponed for years, but now I'm going to watch via Viaplay. A wafer-thin story in which we mainly see Demi dancing. Demi is not a top actress. She has a nice body with too much silicone and Burt is just Burt who can only play idiots. Andrew Bergman (director) also didn't manage to make a great picture of it. Sound track was nice. All in all, I'm sorry that, against my better judgment, my curiosity has won over my wits after all.

Bad.

It should be clear why a film like Striptease came in below an average score of 2.00*. You don't see it too often with this kind of production, but as far as I'm concerned, this is a production that has deserved it. For a very long time there is no rope to tie.

Moore is also not very suitable to really carry this film. A rather affected character who does not have the necessary charm to bring these kinds of films to a decent end. On the other hand, I can still respect the role she assumes. It is something different and above all more daring, it is a praise that Moore still accepts them. Executing these well, however, is another matter.

Some scenes are so silly that they still manage to catch on, otherwise the film is a combination of drama and crime with some slightly erotic touches in between. The latter must be for a specific kind of audience that had to come to this film, the other two barely work. In terms of crime too safe and within the lines, in terms of drama mainly silly and annoying.

To top it all off, the film hits all kinds of walls and falls into several pits, making the story half and messy. Fans of Moore will probably be able to gain something with the film, but unfortunately I can't do much with it. I especially thought it was long drawn-out nonsense that wants too much, but can't really get anywhere.
