"Something always happened to her men..."
Edna Grover convinces her husband Sam to come up with a plan how they can receive $50,000 through insurance fraud and then live in luxury. However, Sam forgets to ask Edna who "she" means. By "she", Edna means she and her lover Ray Belden. After a hotel fire, Edna identifies a corpse; it's her husband Sam. Sam, meanwhile, has fled to another city under a different name and is waiting for Edna to join him and they can then live in luxury. However, Edna doesn't show up. Sam finds out that Edna lives with Ray. Not long after, Ray is found dead and a private detective shows up and blackmails Edna. Meanwhile, Sam has not seen a cent of the amount paid out.
