Young Annesley Grayle, tired of a dreary, boring existence with her aunt, accepts a young American's proposal to pose as his wife. Later they actually got married. When she hears at a ball that her husband is accused of stealing a valuable diamond and realizes that he is indeed a thief, she hides the gem to save him.
