Intrigo: Death of an Author plot
David is contacted in Stockholm by his publisher. A manuscript by the famous author Germund Rein has appeared in the publishing house. David has previously translated Rein's work and is now given the first option to handle this. However, the manuscript arrived in Sweden shrouded in strange circumstances. It is not published in the country of origin. This is the original manuscript and comes with a letter stating that the book may not be printed in the original language. David also discovers that the author has taken his own life by attaching a weight to his body and disappearing into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. The letter must be the last thing he wrote...
