Girls on Probation plot

"Sensational!"

Criminal Hilda Engstrom convinces young Connie Heath to join a party and lends Connie a dress she stole from Jane, one of the cleaning ladies where they both work. When the dress tears, Jane Lennox and her boyfriend and lawyer Neil Dillon notice and Connie is blamed for the theft. She is fired and prosecuted by the law. Neil finds the situation sad for Connie, drops the charges and even lends her money to buy a dress. Connie is ashamed of everything that has happened and moves to the big city. She gets a job and can now also pay off the dress. When Hilda and her criminal partner Tony Rand visit Conny, the trio are arrested, suspected of participating in a bank robbery. Connie's involvement is questioned and she is released on bail. She turns to Neil for support, who falls in love with her. When Hilda is released, she wants revenge on Connie.
