Benicio Del Toro was and is perfect for the role of Pablo Escobar but the other actors and the messy story don't really help.
I thought the dark undertone was successful and the film was also quite interesting, but more could have been done with this material.
A more than sufficient thanks to the aforementioned Del Toro.

In "Escobar: Paradise Lost" a fictional romantic story is interwoven with the life of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
Canadian surfer boy Nick (Josh Hutcherson) falls madly in love with young Maria (Claudia Traisac) and is shocked to discover that her daddy is the infamous Pablo Escobar (Benicio Del Toro). Nick is soon up to his ears in the criminal circuit.
It produces a rough Romance / Thriller film, with many images of the Colombian landscape and a handsome role by Benicio Del Toro, who knows how to give his character a lot of threat.
