Beyond the Law plot

A feverish night in a Manhattan police station and attached bar. Francis Xavier Pope is a tough Irish cop who, along with his colleagues, interrogates several suspects. When he then goes out for a drink with his wife, an argument ensues between the two. She accuses Rocco Gibraltar, a fellow cop, of cheating on her.
