Verwirrung der Liebe plot

The professional bricklayer Edy is with the employee Siegi and the medical student Dieter with the art student Sonja. But accidentally it comes to a partner swap. Dieter happens to go with Siegi at a carnival ball. Dieter likes her fresh and cheerful girlish type. Sonja sees this game with sorrow and she sees this interruption more as a touchstone in their relationship. While Siegi and Dieter go on vacation to the sea, Sonja falls in love with Edy. The dice seem to have fallen in this configuration. But when the two couples finally face the city official, they seem to come to their senses. What are they doing?
