"No one is ever really prepared."

Samantha Abbott is a high school chemistry teacher in Chicago. When she starts her last semester, she is confronted with unexpected news: she is pregnant. Not much later she finds out that one of her favorite students, Jasmine, has ended up in a similar situation. An unlikely friendship develops between the two women.
