"Any man who hates dogs, women and children can't be all bad!"
When Peter Wilson trips over divorced Terry Kozlenko's legs, his eyes are damaged. He and Kozlenko do fall in love, which leads to a marriage. He comes to live with her and her three children, but Kozlenko's ex-husband, who still visits regularly and does not get along with Wilson, creates tension.
